When obstacles appear and things don’t go according to your plans, do you find it easy to go with the flow or do you battle hard against them?
For many, the unexpected hurdles make them feel off-track, off-balance, and out of control.
Our ego mind wants us to fight against everything that’s wrong. It’s frustrated by everything that gets in our way of accomplishing what we want, when we want it. This part of your mind believes everything in life is linear and predictable. It bases its experience of reality on judgments of things being good or bad, right or wrong.
But the deeper mind, the mind of the spirit, knows that everything that appears in your life is a path to greater understanding and fuller expression of your truth. It knows that there is not always a straight line to reach your destination and allows for the experiences of miracles and quantum leaps. Â
The obstacles are the opportunity. They are lessons to help you explore and unfold to the deeper realizations of your desires so that you may more fully align all parts of yourself with it. It’s then that you will be able to receive your desires more completely.
It reminds me of the words in the children’s book, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, “We can’t go over it. We can’t go under it. Oh no! We’ve got to go through it.” In life, you’ll get bumps and bruises, a bit muddy, and have to go through things you are afraid of or can’t see beyond.
Yet your higher self understands that in order to transcend anything that appears to prevent you from attaining the outcomes you strive for, you must be willing to do the work. You must allow yourself to dive into the thing that is blocking or limiting you so you truly understand it and yourself and can reach your goals.Â
You must look for the lesson the Divine is revealing to you, and in doing so, you will be able to discern what is required to reach your next level. Â
Those obstacles might be:
- When you’re working to create a healthier lifestyle but your schedule doesn’t allow you to have the time you’d like to dedicate to your new behaviors, and you then explore the opportunities you have to set strong boundaries, lean into self-love and self-care, and the beliefs that go along with it.
- When you’re experiencing conflict with your partner, you can look below the surface of what’s being discussed so you can discover the real needs or desires that aren’t being met for each of you. In doing so, you’ll identify if you are willing to meet those needs or desires of your partner (or not), and what changes or modifications are necessary in order for that to happen.
- When you realize you’ve been overwhelmed, overworking, and are quickly burning out, you can seek to understand what you’ve been trying to avoid or been unwilling to acknowledge. Only through that insight can you transform what you’ve been experiencing.
I invite you to begin to look at the challenges in your life as blessings in disguise to help you reach your next levels in life. Each holds new wisdom to be gained, from which you can take your next best steps that are aligned with your deepest desires and your authentic self.
The opportunity to reach your fullest potential is built upon faith, action, and overcome obstacles.  It’s not always easy, especially alone, but the other side of your obstacles is so rewarding and satisfying because you’ve learned something about yourself and what it means to you by going through them. Â
You’ve got this.
